McGrew Gift Shoppe
The McGrew Gift Shoppe opened its doors in June 2008 because of the concerted effort of two particular volunteers, Bill Prince (1928-2025) and Joe Stiles. Under Bill's leadership, the Shoppe served the community well with both practical and fun gift items, such as flashlights and puzzles.
Past favorites will continue to be available at the Shoppe, such as old-fashioned American-made toys and Preston County history books written by local authors Bill Williams and Connie Cox and McGrew biographies by Susan Hardesty. Signed copies of James C. McGrew: Statesman and Servant and The Persis Memoir are always on hand.
New this year is artwork created by Kingwood native Glenna Miller, who now lives in Georgia, but has fond memories of her childhood home. She has created beautiful images of the Methodist Church, the Courthouse Well, and McGrew House in 5" x 7" and 8" by 10" sizes, suitable for framing. Each would be a lovely gift or keepsake.
